Serve One Another

Even those with the least of worldly possessions can have a dramatic and positive impact on the life of someone else. When we walk this earth with a single purpose at our core, to serve on another, our words and actions can reach far beyond our small circle of influence, allowing the love of God to be seen, felt, and heard.

Putting Faith Into Action With The Spoken Word… Or Not

So why do some people insist on dwelling on all of this negativity? The simple answer is lack of faith and lack of hope. Without faith and without hope, the unknown can be terrifying. We hold on to the “demon” we have grown accustomed to rather than open the door to a new, possibly more painful experience. Because we are holding on, our spoken words reflect our pain. It is essentially a defense mechanism that keeps us stagnant. So how can we break this cycle? We must learn to manifest a joyful future using the spoken word.

A Legacy of Gluttony

Those of you who are old enough (children of the 50’s and 60’s) will probably remember your parents telling you to clean your plate because “children in China were starving.” It never made sense the way they said it. Wouldn’t it be impractical to gather up the brussel sprouts that my sister and the dog and I didn’t want, and ship them over to China to help those kids? And how would my consumption of those disgusting green balls help those Chinese kids anyway? Obviously, we missed the point entirely, but so did our parents!
