God has a plan for our cultural sanity.

The sanity of humanity is called into question daily. Maybe it is through our isolation and reemergence that we will begin to better understand God’s plan.  Possibly, clearing our calendars and separating ourselves from others has the potential to open our eyes to look at life a whole new way.

For example confronting our mortality and facing the reality of this disease is capable of creating positive change. COVID 19, and the resulting impact on the economy are totally beyond our control. Will it hold us captive long enough to admit that we are utterly dependent upon Him?

Maybe… maybe not…

The enemy is working overtime.  Loneliness, fear, uncertainty, discontent, and pessimism are abundantly active. They methodically take over every inch of spiritual ground left unprotected due to lack of faith.  On top of that, some are exploiting racial tensions and counterproductive behavior is the result.

It starts with an abundance of lies injected into a situation filled with fear and uncertainty. This is one of the best recipes for deceit. Deception thrives on many levels.  Ultimately too many people believe too strongly in the lies and propaganda the bullies are pushing, and it is causing a decay into communal insanity.

Focusing our Prayer on Sanity for Humanity

Wisdom points me to one thing we all can do… pray for the sanity of humanity.  Focused prayer begins with understanding. First, understand fully what sanity is. Next, pray for sanity and all the things that contribute to it.

Sanity for Humanity

The synonyms for sanity describe many of the qualities we find in those who possess that higher degree of sanity we hope to achieve as a culture. These would be the characteristics contributing to sanity. Above all, look for them and surround yourself with those who exhibit them. Certainly, run from those who do not.

Sanity for Humanity

The future remains uncertain.

In other words, the things that I once took for granted, I may never be able to count on again.  Moreover, I expect there will be many long term repercussions that we cannot even begin to imagine.  Certainly the long term effects of the events that took place in Q2, 2020 will affect us all. They will will play out for those who lost their jobs and want them back as well as for those who don’t want to return to work and lose the big bonus unemployment check.  In short, their jobs may go to others, may be eliminated entirely, or be outsourced to agencies changing the entire concept of employment in the USA and how we do business.

Our cultural sanity is at risk.

All that uncertainty leaves the door wide open for the enemy to come back again and again, shouting inside our heads about the loneliness, fear, uncertainty, discontent, and pessimism.  We must overcome it or we will be overcome by it. To overcome we must pray. Pray for the sanity of humanity.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

Ephesians 1:18-21

  1. Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any helpful hints for rookie blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

    1. Best advice I can give is to write from the heart about things that inspire you. Meet other bloggers online and interact with them as well.
