Just in case you have been reading my posts for a while and have primarily been exposed to my “spiritual side”, I feel that I should preface this post by confessing that marketing is my profession. That being said, I have come to understand that I am on a spiritual journey seeking wisdom and understanding, and must be able to define the keys to my success, both material and spiritual, from that spiritual vantage point.
You may want to read that over a few times until it sinks in. In many ways it appears to be a paradox, and frankly, I had to re-write it several times before it captured what I really wanted to convey. I am on a spiritual journey seeking wisdom and understanding, and must be able to define the keys to my success, both material and spiritual, from that spiritual vantage point.
My goal is to acquire and share the wisdom that will carry me, and everyone who will go with me, to a life of abundance for body, mind, and spirit, victorious over an uncertain future that looms large and foreboding.
We humans often have lofty goals and we naturally desire success. It may seem at first like you can’t get there from here, but the only place you can start, is where you are, having faith in your mission. We do not always know what to do to achieve that success, and can easily get bogged down with planning and projecting, hemming and hawing, wondering and worrying, anything and everything except taking that first step.
Sometimes all we can see is the mountain, when the summit is truly the goal. What I have learned through marketing, is that the summit is reached when we scale the mountain a few steps at a time, recognizing the benchmarks, and celebrating the small victories.
So what are some of these small victories? What are the things we may be forgetting to celebrate and be thankful for when they happen?

Yes, small victories matter! Every victory along the way contributes to success in the end, and if I am taking the small steps I need to every day, even when all I can see is the mountain, I know that those small victories will carry me to the summit.
That vision of the summit… the destination… the goal, is the spiritual force, the faith, “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
Yes, small victories matter! They matter in business, they matter in child rearing, they matter in ministry and they matter in life! They matter because if I do the small things, God can and will do the big things!

Lynn,
This is one of the best articles I have read in some time. Not because of the words but because of the feeling I got because of it!
Thank you for sharing and making me smile! Victory!

Your response brought a tear to my eye…happy tear…Victory!
Excellent post and so true – those little things can sure add up and give a person the strength to keep going sometimes.

I sure do agree with that Nancy.
We always seem to be looking for the “next big thing,” not realizing the importance of each “special gift” that God gives each and every one of us, when we are in tune to His Spirit. When we learn to be faithful in the little things; God will give us bigger blessings.
Gosh Linda, the way you said that reminds me of the prayer of Jabez! 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
Wow, fantastic post Lynn.
Your post brought such a blessing my way. Sometimes we look always for the big victories, when it is in fact the daily small victories that takes us each step closer and brings a tremendous blessing each day as well. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful post:)

I am so glad it touched you that way Susie.
Its always the small things that add up to the great big things. Life comes at us in leaps and bounds but its those moments of joy that are so tiny we often over look them, but we need to embrace them as they are what keeps us sane.
Good point Ken, and sanity can be elusive at times.
Ah Lynn, you always put things in perspective for me….How often I have been in the “valley” and reached an achievement or a goal or received an answered prayer and never once thought of it as a small victory. As usual, Thank You!
