Someone posed a very thought provoking question to me today.\u00a0 A question that we should all be able to answer quickly and with confidence, but one that I had not asked myself in a very long time.\u00a0 \u201cWhat do you consider to be your greatest asset?\u201d\u00a0 As I began to consider the possibilities, I found myself really stumped.\u00a0 What is that one best attribute that when called upon, will enable me to reach my full potential?<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Reflecting on my life, I can certainly see that at different times and in different situations, there have been several qualities that have carried me through, but I was not able to grasp a single defining attribute that connected all of the dots.\u00a0 Since the young adults group that I lead at my church was meeting tonight, I thought it would be interesting to hear what they had to say, so I asked them what they thought my greatest asset was.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Their answers were encouraging, maybe even flattering, because they all seemed to focus on communication skills, when I had actually been feeling a little insecure, wondering if I had really been making sense to them at all.\u00a0 I did understand where they were coming from however.\u00a0 As I have learned through my business career to explain high tech device capabilities to low tech system users, I have also learned to interpret highly intellectual concepts, in common terms understandable to the young people I lead. \u00a0I really love it when I challenge them to look at themselves and the world from a totally foreign perspective.<\/span><\/h3>\n

It was not until I was on my way home, that suddenly the pieces of the puzzle started coming together for me, and I began to understand not only what my greatest asset was, but also why.\u00a0 My hunger for knowledge is that defining asset.\u00a0 I am always ready to learn something new and to explore the unknown.\u00a0 I am always excited to share what I am learning with others who desire to grow in their own knowledge and understanding.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Maybe that is why I became so immersed in One Month of Wisdom during its creation.\u00a0 The subject matter, the book of Proverbs, teaches that there is always more wisdom waiting to be acquired.\u00a0 All we need to do is ask for wisdom and we will be presented with opportunities to learn.\u00a0 The wise are always seeking a deeper understanding, while the foolish get lost in the ways of the world, so if through this project I am able to inspire others to seek wisdom, that will\u00a0 indeed bring me great joy!<\/span><\/h3>\n
