Many wise people have observed that the curse of our generation is our busy-ness.\u00a0 So many things to do, so many deadlines, always driven to do more, be more, and have more, but do we really move ahead being stuck in this dynamic?\u00a0 Do we derive any true satisfaction from the work that we do?<\/h3>\n

I would offer this definition of success.\u00a0 Success is finding something that you love to do so much, you would do it for free, then learning to do it so well that people will pay you well to do it.<\/h3>\n

According to Kahlil Gibran,<\/h3>\n

“Work is love made visible.<\/h3>\n

And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.<\/h3>\n

For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man’s hunger.<\/h3>\n

And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distills a poison in the wine.<\/h3>\n

And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing, you muffle man’s ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Just a little something to ponder… It might serve us well to re-examine our priorities.<\/h3>\n
