Is this something reserved solely for biblical characters like Jesus and Lazarus, or is it something that applies to our lives as well?<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I believe that I, too, was raised from the dead<\/span>, and I am not talking about a near death experience I had when I was 8 years old.  I refer to the moment I accepted the promise of eternal life by listening to and following Jesus.  Before that moment I was as good as dead, or already dead depending on how you want to look at it.\u00a0 What I had, at best, was a potential for life.  I drifted day to day seeking to fulfill the carnal desires that my unhappy shell of a body cried out for to create the illusion of a reason for being.<span id=\"more-1221\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/onemonthofwisdom.com\/wisdomblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/salvation_400.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1229  alignleft\" style=\"margin: 4px 12px;\" title=\"Salvation\" src=\"https:\/\/onemonthofwisdom.com\/wisdomblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/salvation_400.jpg\" alt=\"Moment of Salvation\" width=\"280\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onemonthofwisdom.com\/wisdomblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/salvation_400.jpg 400w, https:\/\/onemonthofwisdom.com\/wisdomblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/salvation_400-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><\/a>Yes, I had gone astray, and I lusted for all kinds of things, but I loved nothing.\u00a0 In one blessed moment I promised my life to Him, and He handed my life back to me, and for the first time in my life, I felt truly ALIVE!<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">I wonder sometimes how many others are trapped in that box, and have no idea that life truly awaits them.\u00a0 I had no idea at the time that I was just going through the motions, putting on a show for the world, and professing to be something, when in reality my contribution to the world amounted to less than nothing.\u00a0 But even in the state I was in, a slave to drugs and promiscuity, my life was of such value to the Creator of the universe, that He sought after me in the darkest of places to bring me home.\u00a0 I had done nothing to deserve this honor, it was by grace alone.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">I once heard it explained this way.\u00a0 If I had a $100 bill in my shoe, all sweaty and nasty smelling, crusted up with dirt, and I offered it to you, would you take it?\u00a0 Well you might hold it out at arms length, handle it with protective gloves, or or spray it with disinfectant, but at the end of the day, $100 is $100.\u00a0 It still spends.\u00a0 It has value even when it has been poorly treated, abused and walked on.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">God sees us like that $100 bill.\u00a0 He sees past the filth and stench, and values us.\u00a0 By grace He understands that what is most valuable within us has no ability to function in this world, apart from His presence in our lives, and so He makes a way for us to find Him and be cleansed.\u00a0 In that cleansing moment, we step out of a waking death and into living life.\u00a0 In Jesus, we are raised from the dead.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Just in case you are having a skeptical moment and wondering if lynnibug went a little over the edge here, I decided to do just a little searching online to find the testimony of others who experienced a tangible, describable change in the moment they chose life over death.<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.premiercommunity.org.uk\/profiles\/blogs\/my-salvation-experience\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah D<\/a> had this to say.<\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>&#8220;It seemed that rivers of water were washing over me, and like I was  being cleansed. I felt that God gave me this unique experience, because  the Hound of Heaven had been after me for some time, and God wanted me  to be able to hold on to this experience so that I would have it to  cling to during times of doubt.&#8221;<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.heisnear.com\/RobConradSalvationExperience.html\" target=\"_blank\">Rob Conrad<\/a> had never given a thought to what the bible was about<\/span> and admits he was clueless just a week before his own salvation experience.\u00a0 He responded when told of his mother&#8217;s salvation, &#8220;Saved from what?&#8221;\u00a0 His salvation experience took place in the work place.\u00a0 Upon retreating to his office and closing the door, he witnessed a brilliant light followed by a series of winds.\u00a0 Below is but a tiny excerpt.\u00a0 I highly recommend you follow the link in his name to the full version.<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;God&#8217;s presence of\u00a0 LIGHT\u00a0 blasted my entire being as a\u00a0 person might whip a\u00a0 sheet\u00a0 outside to shake off\u00a0 the dust.\u00a0\u00a0 Instantly,\u00a0 any trace of sin\u00a0 or\u00a0 guilt\u00a0 in my concience\u00a0 was\u00a0 gone.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The intensity\u00a0 and\u00a0 reality of\u00a0 this\u00a0 incredible\u00a0 blast\u00a0 of\u00a0 God&#8217;s\u00a0 light\u00a0 locked\u00a0 me\u00a0 into\u00a0 place\u00a0 as\u00a0 I still\u00a0 was\u00a0 leaning\u00a0 back in\u00a0 my seat\u00a0 and\u00a0 with\u00a0 my\u00a0 eyes also\u00a0 locked closed.\u00a0\u00a0 My\u00a0 immediate\u00a0 awareness of\u00a0 Almighty\u00a0 God\u00a0 was\u00a0 instantly\u00a0 recognizable\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 me\u00a0 as\u00a0 was\u00a0 His\u00a0\u00a0 unexplainable\u00a0 nature\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 peace\u00a0 and\u00a0 comfort\u00a0 which\u00a0 overwhelmingly\u00a0 saturated\u00a0 me\u00a0 in\u00a0 an\u00a0 instant&#8230;.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8230;After all\u00a0 of\u00a0 this took place,\u00a0 it was exactly 11:15AM\u00a0 when\u00a0 I\u00a0 opened my\u00a0 eyes.\u00a0\u00a0 Although\u00a0 when\u00a0 adding\u00a0 up\u00a0 the\u00a0 total\u00a0 time of\u00a0 the\u00a0 actual waves\u00a0 of\u00a0 glory\u00a0 themselves\u00a0 would\u00a0 seem\u00a0 to\u00a0 be\u00a0 maybe\u00a0 10 minutes, somehow\u00a0\u00a0 45\u00a0 minutes\u00a0 had\u00a0\u00a0 passed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After\u00a0 just\u00a0 sitting\u00a0 perfectly calmly\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 my\u00a0\u00a0 chair\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 silence\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 total\u00a0\u00a0 awe\u00a0 for\u00a0 about\u00a0 5 more\u00a0 minutes\u00a0 or\u00a0 so,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I\u00a0\u00a0 finally stood\u00a0\u00a0 up\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 walked\u00a0 back\u00a0 into my\u00a0 department,\u00a0\u00a0 aglow\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 brand\u00a0\u00a0 new\u00a0 man\u00a0 in\u00a0 Christ\u00a0 Jesus.&#8221;<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/lifeisministry.blogspot.com\/2006\/02\/my-salvation-experience.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tazzee<\/a> tells about how she sang in gospel choirs, not because she was a Christian, but because she liked to sing.<\/span> Her testimony really struck a chord with me because her description of her existence prior to knowing Jesus was so much like mine.<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;And when I say partying, I mean getting drunk, grinding, sexing &#8211; the whole 9. I was also quick to cuss a person out if they got in my way and my last real fight was my freshman year at Purdue.\u00a0 My nickname after that was &#8216;Scrappy&#8217; &#8211; so Scrappy was singing the Lord&#8217;s praises and cursing folks out on a regular basis.&#8221;<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Her moment of salvation came later, not terribly dramatic until&#8230;<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;I went to my first gospel choir rehearsal. We were singing this one song and I just felt overtaken! I mean I just started crying, I could barely stand up &#8211; looking back on it now, that was the moment that the Holy Spirit was truly awakened within me&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0 So that choir rehearsal was the point at which the Holy Spirit was awakened in me. And it was like an instant transformation.&#8221;<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>So I am not at all alone in having had a truly tangible transformation experience when I turned my life over to Jesus.\u00a0 In fact, these three testimonies came from page 1 of the Google search results for the phrase &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=salvation+experiences\" target=\"_blank\">salvation experiences<\/a>&#8220;.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">There were about 10,500,000 results!<\/span> I can&#8217;t wait to go read some more.<\/h3>\n<h3>Blessings &amp; Adventure<\/h3>\n<h3>Lynn &#8220;lynnibug&#8221; Rios<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<!--rpuEnd--><!--rpuEnd--><!--rpuEnd--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, I had gone astray, and I lusted for all kinds of things, but I loved nothing.
