You read that right! Get Ready for the Future of Food.
On May 12, I had the honor of meeting a small group of visionaries whose mission is to revolutionize our understanding of the processes that take place inside the body when we eat, and with that knowledge, begin to shape positive changes into the future of food
Over 20 years of ground breaking science and trials, in the hands of a team of leaders, all experts in their specific disciplines, driven by a passion to stop the epidemics of obesity and diabetes that has become the norm, all openly praising God for what He has blessed them with, has resulted in what I believe to be the dream team of our age.
The future of food is sooner than you think!
Now I don’t normally speak in such superlatives, and I am not easily impressed, but after listening to them one after another, my gut is telling me that this IS the REAL DEAL! What I am about to share with you is so new it is in a category of its own. It is about re-engineering the foods we love, naturally, making the future of food healthier, without having to sacrifice the flavors and textures we have grown to love… and not changed with chemicals, but with other foods, to be healthy so we can eat what we want without accumulating fat and poisoning our bodies with tons of sugar. Imagine the possibilities! That is huge, and the market for it is limitless. Face it, we are all going to continue eating and drinking. (more…)

The Biblical Model For Sustainable Living has eluded mankind throughout the ages.
While the common man has dreamed of a utopian society that could be achieved via a plethora of isms (capitalism, socialism, communism, and so on), that utopia has never been achieved due to mans corruption of the ideals of whatever ism is in place.
Yesterday I left a comment on a blog post about why purchasing quality coffee online made sense, and have found myself thinking about it a lot today. When I consider how most products are produced and brought to market in our country, it just makes me shudder. This business model is certainly not what God intended.

Let’s start with our buying habits. We live in a shop til you drop society. We are always buying more and more stuff, and in six months to a year we will not want, not use, find broken, or deem no longer stylish, and in most cases, just throw it out. We have been taught to consume, and to keep us consuming the manufacturers must provide us with a price point that keeps the treadmill moving. So how do they do that?
Easy, they exploit workers in less developed areas of the world. Men, women, and children in other parts of the world will work long hours in poor conditions for a fraction of what American workers get paid. We want cheap prices, and so we turn our heads and hearts away from the knowledge of how all this stuff can get to market so cheaply. What if we took the initiative to bring about change in the world? (more…)

Last night I had the privilege of hearing Pastor Leonardo Diaz from Manzanillo, Cuba speak his passion to a small group at a local Church in Tampa. I knew in advance that his topic would be about church growth and the things of God that fuel increasing revival on the small island of Cuba. What I was not prepared for was the striking resemblance between the process of discipleship he spoke of, and the network marketing industry, when it is done with honesty and integrity. No wonder so many people are attracted to network marketing… God is the genius who came up with the plan!
I am sure you are wondering just how I made that connection, so I will take it one step at a time. Pastor Leo began with his own testimony. In his early years as a pastor he sought God’s direction for his ministry. He studied the scriptures diligently as he asked for Gods direction, and God answered his prayer with this passage just as He had answered the wise King Solomon. (more…)

Just in case you have been reading my posts for a while and have primarily been exposed to my “spiritual side”, I feel that I should preface this post by confessing that marketing is my profession. That being said, I have come to understand that I am on a spiritual journey seeking wisdom and understanding, and must be able to define the keys to my success, both material and spiritual, from that spiritual vantage point.
You may want to read that over a few times until it sinks in. In many ways it appears to be a paradox, and frankly, I had to re-write it several times before it captured what I really wanted to convey. I am on a spiritual journey seeking wisdom and understanding, and must be able to define the keys to my success, both material and spiritual, from that spiritual vantage point.
My goal is to acquire and share the wisdom that will carry me, and everyone who will go with me, to a life of abundance for body, mind, and spirit, victorious over an uncertain future that looms large and foreboding.
We humans often have lofty goals and we naturally desire success. It may seem at first like you can’t get there from here, but the only (more…)

One thing common to people who achieve a high level of success is their willingness to take risks. One of my early mentors always posed these two questions when I was considering a risky move. “What is the worst thing that could happen?” and “If that worst thing did happen, what would the damage be?”
The point is that in most cases, if the risk taken did not result in success, it would have left me in no worse circumstances than if I had not taken the risk. In business, for example, let’s say you have a very promising prospect that becomes unresponsive and won’t take your calls. You know your product or service is exactly what they need, and you could go over your prospects head and call the CEO, but you hesitate because that could damage your relationship if he takes offense. What is the worst thing that could happen? (more…)

All I can say is WOW! It has been a crazy busy week, with blessing upon blessing in my business life! All week I have been trying to get a few minutes to share something I learned at a training event last weekend, so here I am, burning the midnight oil because it just can’t wait any longer.
Rev. Jeff Stiggins gave this telling presentation, that is so simple, yet so profound. I would also add that although this is directed at church leadership, the principals are valid for excelling as a leader in any profession or walk of life.
It begins, Once upon a time, church leadership wasn’t so challenging. There weren’t a lot of options, and the options you did have were well marked. Today there are choices, lots of choices, and the signs are sometimes confusing. Today leadership isn’t so simple, to the point where things feel upside down. So here is a formula to simplify leadership in 3 steps.
1. Be who you are
2. See what you have
3. Do what matters to God.
Now let’s look at these a little closer…

Just the other night, in a committee meeting, a member asked the committee chair to please stop using the words dire and dismal in relation to the committee’s financial challenges. Her point was that the use of those words, especially with the frequency they were being used, gave power to the problem rather than the solution. When we focus on problems, they persist, but when we focus on solutions we overcome.
No matter what kind of challenges we face in our lives overcoming them has everything to do with the manner in which we approach them. Our point of view and attitude are closely related, and are keys to our success. If we have a positive attitude and expect success, then we will approach obstacles from the point of view that there are opportunities to be discovered. Without a clear expectation of success, we are just stuck with the way things are, or worse. (more…)

I just got the announcement – Toms has given away 1 million pairs of shoes! What an accomplishment that is. Tom’s unique business model, one for one, has made them a shining example of a giving business with a mission and a responsible corporate world citizen. More important is the fact that in a few short years, one million needy children have had their lives greatly improved by a gift of shoes.

I visited a blog at the suggestion of a friend this morning to read a post titled “You Are NOT the Issue…So Don’t Sabotage Yourself” and was very pleased to find wisdom there. As I posted my comment, I realized that my comment was indeed a post in its own right, so I wanted to share it with you.
Nate’s post discussed how many new marketers fail because they are inwardly focused and think it is all about them or their product or opportunity. Nate, from his own experience and wise understanding, cautions them to stop talking about themselves, and focus on others.
A comment was left by Karen asking, “What is my message then?” After commenting to the author, Nate, I felt compelled to address Karen’s question, and thought the answer valuable enough to also share it with you. (more…)
